Built a global Design Thinking culture across 100+ sessions
About
Accenture is one of the world's largest professional services companies, with over 750,000 employees across 120+ countries delivering strategy, consulting, technology, and operations services. As part of a broader transformation, Accenture pursued embedding human-centered design as a core capability across its global consulting practice — moving it from a niche skill to a fundamental way of working. Simultaneously, Accenture was shifting its strategic focus toward sustainability, particularly in high-growth markets like India.
Challenge
Accenture needed to embed human-centered design thinking into the DNA of its global consulting workforce — not as another framework on a slide, but as a lived mindset that consultants would carry into client engagements. The risk was real: at the scale of 750,000+ employees across dozens of countries, training programs easily become checkbox exercises. Consultants would show up skeptical, unsure how something that felt 'playful' could be relevant to enterprise strategy work. Beyond the global rollout, Accenture India's leadership team needed a specialized program that combined Design Thinking with the company's new sustainability strategy and SDG alignment — a program they could then cascade to their own teams independently.
Solution
Delivered over 100 hands-on Design Thinking training sessions across London, Dublin, Oslo, and multiple locations in India and Southeast Asia. Every session was designed to make the mindset tangible — combining theory with real-world examples and practical application so consultants could feel the shift, not just hear about it. Innovated the delivery format by introducing remote feedback sessions connecting parallel cohorts across geographies, creating cross-pollination and peer learning before COVID made remote collaboration standard. For Accenture India, designed a bespoke sustainability-focused Design Thinking program that aligned human-centered design methodology with the SDGs and Accenture's new strategic direction. Trained the India leadership team — commissioned directly by the head of L&D — using a train-the-trainer model so they could deliver the program independently to their broader consultant population. The program is still running internally today.
Outcome
Consistent NPS of 9-10 across all 100+ sessions. Consultants who arrived skeptical left calling it the best training at Accenture. The India sustainability program is still running in-house today — fully self-sustaining.
